So this is me! I am a family photographer in Reading, England.
Being a newborn and family photographer means I am seldom in the picture. So normally annually, or every second year, I try organise a family photoshoot, where I get another professional photographer to take our pictures. But this year, as we did it very last minute, I decided that I would take the pictures (with a combination of me taking them, setting up a tripod and getting other family members to- with much instruction- take some pics for me).
So this is us.
We’re a family of 6. My husband and I have been married for 21 years this year (2022), and I have four amazing boys, who are currently aged 18, 16, 10 & 7. I also was blessed with a precious little girl, who was our 3rd child. She was born with Trisomy18, and unfortunately died when she was 16 months old (about 16 months longer than doctors thought she’d live).
My husband and I love the outdoors: running, trail running up mountains, mountain biking, hiking. Our children begrudgingly will tag along when forced. But I’m hoping that it’s a good foundation, and one day they’ll love it as much as we do. My parents (pictured with us in these pics), live in South Africa, where I was born, and lived most my life. But we have now made the move to Reading, Berkshire, in the United Kingdom, in the hope of giving our kids amazing opportunities for their futures. We’re excited about this new season, though admittedly its a somewhat scary one. So I am currently taking photo shoots in Reading.
